Obituary

Victor R. Perez Jr., born July 25, 1955, a United States Army Veteran, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the age of 69.Victor is preceded in death by his father Victor R. Perez Sr. and his mother Elvira Perez.He is survived by his wife, Adriana Perez, and a blended family that brought him immense pride and joy. He was a dedicated stepfather to Kimberly Lazo and her wife, Sabrina Lazo, to Steven Reyes and his wife, Diana Reyes, and Kelsey Reyes and her fiancé Alex Cardenas. He was a proud grandfather to Malachi Reyes, whose presence always brought him so much joy. He is also survived by his son, Eric Perez, and his beloved grandchildren, Jacob and Emma Perez. Victor leaves behind his sisters, Mary Louis Muñoz (and her late husband John) and Norma Guerra (and her husband Larry Cooper), and brother, Manuel Perez. His memory will live on through countless extended family members, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Victor was known for his warm heart, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He was a proud funeral director and embalmer for 50 years, devoted to serving families during their most difficult times. He also served as a national and international disaster relief mortician (DMORT) with Homeland Security, contributing his expertise and compassion during national tragedies such as 9/11, the Columbus shuttle disaster, Hurricane Katrina, and many others. His presence was a steady source of guidance, comfort, and joy. Whether spending time with family, offering a helping hand, or sharing a story that made everyone laugh, Victor's impact was felt deeply and will be remembered always. Though he is no longer with us in person, the memory of Victor R. Perez Jr. will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His love, laughter, and legacy will continue to inspire and guide his family for generations to come. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A Visitation and Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 415 S. Business IH-35, New Braunfels, Texas. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 386 N. Castell, New Braunfels, Texas, at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 9th, followed by a reception at St. Mary's Hall at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. An Interment with military honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30 PM. A special thanks the VA team for all the support offered to us in the past two and a half years. To all our family and friends for all the thoughts and prayers, know that you brought us comfort and strength while we fought this battle.
