Sylvia C. Salazar, age 73, entered into rest on Monday, February 2, 2026 in Del Rio, Texas. She was born on September 24, 1952 in Del Rio, Texas.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Sylvia Salazar, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was the kind of woman whose presence brought comfort, whose heart was bigger than words could describe, and whose love was felt by all who knew her.
Family meant everything to her, and her greatest joy was seeing her loved ones close, sharing time, laughter, and love. She dedicated many years of her life to hard work and service. She spent 25 years at Southwestern Bell in Fort Worth, Texas, and when she later returned home to Del Rio in 2004, she proudly served at the Val Verde County Courthouse until her retirement in 2018.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will never be forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Esteban "Popo" & Eglantina "Nina" Coronado, and brother, Rodolfo "Rudy" Coronado.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Angel Salazar, children, Joey, Ralph & Victoria Salazar, and Salina Hernandez. Grandchildren, Taylor Armenta, Megan & Briana Hernandez, Travis, Brady, Brittany & Addison Salazar, Malia Guevara, and Isaac & Ethan Teran. Great-grandchildren, Aliya, Ava & Canaan David Armenta, Parker Salazar, as well as her bonus great-grandchildren, Henry, Eleanor, Adelaide & Holden "Holder Guy" Gillespie. Sisters: Alma Coronado, Velma and spouse Rene Valdez as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
