Soyla G. Velasquez, age 71 entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 in Del Rio, Tx. She was born on January 3, 1954. She is preceded in death by her parents Francisco S. Velasquez, Amelia G. Velasquez, and brother Francisco G. Velasquez Jr..

Soyla enjoyed life to the fullest. Amongst her many adventures, she participated in various organizations that allowed her to actively participate with scholarship fundraising and aiding underprivileged children. Her roles in the San Felipe Exes and the Amistad Lions club among many, allowed her to continue her charitable work over the years.

Tia, Madrina and friend were titles she cherished just as she cherished the many memories she made with those she loved. Her contagious smile will remain engraved in our hearts and minds as we remember her beautiful soul.

The Velasquez family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to Sharon Paniagua, Jainie Jones, Letty Martinez and the San Felipe Exes Organizations.

Left to cherish her memory is her brother Sam Velasquez and wife Ana, Sister-in-law Sylvia Velasquez, and Sister-in-law Sharon Paniagua. Nieces Mona (Derek) Casillas, Victoria (Aaron) Rodriguez, Nephews Samuel (Michelle) Velasquez Jr., and Nicholas Velasquez. Great nieces and nephews David (Valeria), Jadyn, Syann, and Devyn Casillas, Alianna, Mya, and Angel Velasquez, Aaron Jacob, Ezra, and Catalina Rodriguez and Erin Thomas. Great-great nephews Maverick and Lucas Casillas, along with her many godchildren.

Gentlemen with the honor of pallbearers are Derek Casillas, Aaron D. Rodriguez, Robert Vasquez Jr., Nicholas Velasquez, David Casillas, and Angel Velasquez. Honorary pallbearers are Samuel Velasquez Jr., Aaron J. Rodriguez, and Ezra J. Rodriguez

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM; recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home

Funeral Services will take place Monday, February 3 ,2025 beginning with a rosary at 8:30 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home; mass of christian burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, followed by the interment at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
