Obituary

"Skip" Nolan D. Gooden Jr., age 71, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas fighting heart and other health complications. He was born on May 28, 1954 in Warren, Ohio. He relocated to Texas in 1989. Skip was preceded in death by his parents Nolan, Sr. and Donna Gooden, and his daughter Megan Gooden Miler, his half sisters Karla Gooden Burroughs and Kathy Gooden Bouchard, all of Ohio.

Skip leaves his favorite wife Lori Yingling Gooden of 40 years; son Brian (Katie) Gooden of North Carolina; stepson John Yingling of Nevada; sister Debra (Pat) Madden; brothers Tom (Mary) Gooden, and Ron (Sheri) Gooden, and half sister Karen Gooden Parsons of Ohio. Along with many friends important to him. Skip loved and enjoyed his 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He loved nature, the outdoors, playing pool and bowling. He was a concrete mason by trade most of his life, settling into management in manufacturing. Retiring in 2020. He is sadly and greatly missed.

The visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.
