Shirley lived a life full of love,compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family.Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, John H. Sr. and Almarine Thompson; her brothers JohnH. Jr. and Clemon A. Thompson; and Sister Evelyn Whittington. She is survived by her loving husband,Michael Shaw; her devoted children, Candea Mosley and son-in-law Glen Mosley, Robert (Trey) III anddaughter-in-law Veronica Arnett; her cherished grandchildren, Conner and Cierra Mosley; her great-grandchild, Eliott Biondo; her beloved siblings, Emma Warren, Jeraldine Harper; a host of nieces,nephews, cousins, and dear friends; and her beloved dog Prince Tuckas.Shirley was a powerful and inspiring woman, deeply rooted in her love for God and her unwaveringcommitment to justice. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her every action and decision.She believed in the power of prayer, compassion, and service and carried her faith into every aspect ofher life with grace and humility.Shirley was not just a beloved figure, but a pillar of strength and a source of endless love and supportto everyone who knew her. Her special bond with her children and grandchildren brought immensejoy to her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating countless memories oflaughter, wisdom, and unconditional love.With a heart of gold, Shirley was a caring and generous soul who was always ready with a helpinghand, encouraging words, or a listening ear. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them.As a passionate advocate for social justice, Shirley was a dedicated supporter of the Democratic Party and arelentless fighter against gun violence. She devoted her life to uplifting the Black community, championingequality, and empowering those whose voices were often unheard. Despite the racial tension in her community,she courageously founded a Black Lives Matter chapter in New Braunfels, TX, becoming a beacon of hope andchange. With an unwavering belief in the power of collective action, she organized and inspired others to worktoward a more just and equitable society. Her commitment to creating safer communities and celebrating Blackexcellence leaves a legacy of courage, compassion, and hope. Shirley's spirit will inspire future generations tostand up, speak out, and make a difference.Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure ofknowing her.
