Shirley Gwen
Sagraves
Sep 13, 1946 — Apr 9, 2026
Shirley Gwen Sagraves, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2026. She was born on September 13, 1946, in Eldorado, Arkansas, to Bill Little and Inez Elizabeth Little. In 1951, her family moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where she spent much of her early life.
Shirley was married to her devoted husband, Don Sagraves, for 31 years. Both Shirley and Don had been previously married, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures.
She was the proud mother of three sons: Kirk Woods, who preceded her in death in 2017 due to complications from diabetes; Keith, of San Antonio, Texas; and Eric, of San Marcos, Texas. She was also a loving stepmother to three stepsons: Brian and his wife, Leslie; Steve and his wife, Nancy; and Todd and his wife, Heather. Shirley was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 2 more on the way.
Shirley lived in New Braunfels, Texas, where she was known for her warm heart and strong faith. She began each day reading her Bible, a practice she faithfully kept for many years. She found great joy in simple pleasures—especially taking road trips with Don, discovering new places to eat, and revisiting her favorite spots like Blue Bonnet Cafe and Robert's Steakhouse. Her absolute favorite destination, however, was CCC Steakhouse, a place that held many cherished memories. Shirley and Don also enjoyed visiting casinos over the years, creating countless memories together.
Above all, Shirley deeply loved her family. She shared a particularly special and close bond with her grandson, Nico—they were truly best buddies. Her love, guidance, and presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Little and Inez Elizabeth Little; her brother, Harold Goodnight; her sister, Donna Harrison; her brother-in-law, Keith Harrison; and her son, Kirk Woods.
Shirley was very deeply loved by her husband and children, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered.
Mrs. Sagraves will have a memorial service on Thursday, April 30th, 2026, at 5:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations, in Shirley's name, be made to the American Liver Foundation.
