Shirl H. Marshall, age 76, entered into the arms of his Lord and Saviour on March 13, 2010 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born October 11, 1933 in San Diego, Ca. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1956 and later in the Civil Service until his retirement after more than 30 years, in 1992, most of the that time was served with distinction at Laughlin Air Force Base. He was preceded in death by parents, Reverend Ralph H. and Mary T. Marshall. Brothers, Ralph and George Marshall. He met and married the love of his life, the former Connie Mae Vick here in Del Rio in 1953 after their long engagement of 3 weeks! It would have been 1 week but they had to wait until payday because �"weddings aren"�t cheap"�, a fact which was never lost on him as they subsequently raised 3 daughters. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years, Connie Rae Marshall. Daughters, Debra A. Ramirez and the late Joe Ramirez; Mary L. Bracamontes and husband Armando, and Shirl D. (Button) McGonagill. Grandchildren: Joshua Stovall, Michael and Matthew Bracamontes, Amanda ( Isaac) DeLaCruz and Shirl H. ( Misty) Marshall, Jr.; his �"special grandchildren buddies"�: Justin and Travis Kruciak, and Brittany Chace; Great-Grandchildren: Christina and Andrew Stovall and Maddison and Brendan Marshall. Sisters, Jean (Charles) Currie, Laura (Lee) Lawson, Ruth (and the late David) Green, and Linda (Jack) Yocum. Numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt love and gratitude to the wonderful nurses and staff of Medway Home Health who all became more like daughters and sons than caretakers, both to Shirl and Connie, and their family. Our grateful thanks also to Dr. Cadena, staff, VVRMC, and Hospice. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010, 12:00pm-3:00pm, Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Chapel of Remembrance. Chapel Service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010, 3:00pm, Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Military Honors will be conducted by U.S. Air Force and American Legion Post #595. Cremation to follow.
