Obituary

Scott Timothy Leach, born on July 11, 1970, in Fort Ord, California, passed away in his sleep at his home in Texas on January 28, 2025. He was 54 years old. Raised in northern California, Scott demonstrated a commitment to service from an early age. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army as a military policeman, where he rose through the enlisted ranks and served in several operations, including Operation Just Cause and Operation Restore Hope. Following this chapter of his military career, Scott pursued higher education at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he earned a degree in speech communication and joined the ROTC program. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant and rose to the rank of captain before transitioning from active duty, again serving prestigiously in the US Army Reserve for several years before retirement, including two deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. His military career instilled in him a sense of discipline and duty that he carried with him throughout his life. Scott served as a police officer in Winters, California, and later as a deputy for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. Colleagues who worked alongside him say he was a professional, a mentor, and a man of integrity who always put others first. In every role he undertook, Scott exemplified professionalism and compassion. His unwavering commitment to justice and community left a lasting impression on all who knew him. While living in Joshua Tree California, Scott met Crystal, the love of his life, and her three daughters Julia, Olivia, and Brianna. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. Scott stepped into the role of father with grace and boundless love. He embraced fatherhood fully, becoming the rock and guide his girls could always count on, while he worked towards formally adopting them. Scott's devotion to his family was unmatched. He loved his wife deeply, and it was clear to all who knew him that she was the center of his world. His dedication to their happiness and well-being was evident in every aspect of their lives. In addition to his professional accomplishments and family life, Scott found joy in simple pleasures. He liked reading books that sparked his curiosity or imagination, playing video games for relaxation and fun, hiking, exploring nature, taking road trips, and spending quality time with his family and friends. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, quick wit, sense of humor. Scott's life was defined by service to his country, military duty to his community, law-enforcement, and through unconditional love and devotion to his family. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of his wife, their three daughters, and to all who knew and loved him. Scott Timothy Leach was a loving husband, an incredible father, and a man who made the world a better place. May he rest in eternal grace, and may those who mourn find solace in cherished memories and take comfort in knowing he is at peace, surrounded by the love and light of God. Scott Timothy Leach, you will forever be loved
