Sandra "Sandy" Kay Phillips (née Shock), 80, of New Braunfels,
Texas, passed away peacefully on October 26th, 2025,
surrounded by her loving family.
Sandy was born on June 1 st ,1945, in Austin, Texas, to Evelyn Pope Shock.
She graduated from Dripping Springs High School in 1963 and ran her business,
Austin Van & Storage for over 50 years. She married Kenneth
"Kenny" Phillips in April 1964, with whom she shared 40
wonderful years. Sandy was known for her generosity, humor,
dedication and grit. She loved tending to her garden, spending
time with her family, and would go above and beyond to make
every holiday special. She was the heart of every gathering and
always had a story to tell.
Sandy is survived by her sons Kenneth Craig Phillips and
wife Shaleigh, Charles Kevin Phillips and wife Darlene; her
grandchildren, Matthew Phillips, Katy and husband J.R. Nelson,
Ryleigh and Preston Phillips; her beloved Aunt, Jane Powers and
cousins Gary Powers and Shari Powers Roberts. She is also
survived by her former daughter-in-law Anna Matula Phillips, and
dear friend Charlotte Willis. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Kenny, and her brother, Jim Shock.
A visitation will be held on Friday October 31, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm,
at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A final viewing will take place on
Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 9:00 am, with a funeral service at 10:00 am,
at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, officiated by Bo Henry. An interment
will follow at Fitzhugh Cemetery, Dripping Springs, Texas.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with
loved ones that went before her.
