It is with the most heartfelt sorrow that Sandra Barrera-Mojica, age 59, entered into rest after a short battle with cancer on July 20th, 2024. She was born on August 12th,1964 to the beloved Abel Barrera and Sofia Zuniga-Barrera of Del Rio, Texas.
Sandra reached the lives of countless people through her career. As she worked alongside several doctors as a medical assistant and a health care provider in our community. She was an incredibly loving, dedicated, and loyal person to her work. Her passion motivated her to go above and beyond for her patients and caring for them as if they were her very own family. Sandra was a baker, friend, confidant, caregiver, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister that we all loved dearly.
Sandra had a vibrant spirit, generous heart, and unwavering positivity that impacted everyone around her. Sandra showed her love for others through cooking and baking which became staples in our homes. During her battle against cancer, she taught us to be more appreciative of life. Despite her illness she held on to her sense of humor and her Faith in God. Her departure from our home speaks louder than any words can ever be expressed.
She is preceded in death by her father, Abel Barrera; grandparents, Felix and Eloisa Barrera, and Juan and Lorenza Zuniga; sister, Norma Leticia Garza; brother,Javier Garza; and her grandsons, Joshua and Jonathon Mojica , Noah Jay and granddaughter, Amerie Nicole; and brother in law, Rolando Villarreal.
Left to cherish her memory, her beloved mother, Sofia Zuniga-Barrera, her children, Noe Mojica Jr., Joel Mojica(Crystal), Samantha Mojica(Jose Jasso), Sabrina Mojica(Abraham Fraga); her siblings, Gerardo Garza, Abel Barrera(Gladys), Felix Barrera (Romelia), Carey Barrera, Gustavo Barrera(Marvelia), Rolando Barrera(Angie), Melissa Galindo, George Barrera, Leonel Barrera, Alma Rios(Mark), Elaine Barrera, Lorraine Vargas(Hervey), Clarissa Villarreal, Laura Barrera, Rosalva Caban, and her grandchildren, Ashley, Nathen, Mirella, Kayden, Aniken, Luke,and Kataleigha Mojica, Gael, Catalina, and Galilea Fraga, Yazali Elena Jasso, and also survived by her uncle, Gabriel Zuniga(Alicia), and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26th, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Mass of the Catholic Burial will be held on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Followed by a graveside service at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
