Salome "Sal" Hildalgo Cantu, 73, of Lantana, Florida, passed away on February 13, 2024. Salome was born on January 29, 1951, in Langtry, Texas. He was a loving and kind person who never met a stranger. Salome was known for his giving nature, always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a silly and fun-loving personality, bringing joy to those around him. Salome was a caring and strong individual, who touched the lives of many.

Salome is survived by his wife, Portland Jastram, his daughters Tula Clough and Leah Zwirz, and his son Amador Justin Cantu. He was a beloved brother to Diego Cantu and Mario Cantu. Salome was also a cherished grandfather to Owen Raba, Naythin Cantu, Liberty Clough, Zoey Zwirz, Zuri Zwirz, and Nevaeh Cantu. Sal is also a loving uncle to countless nieces and nephews.

Salome was preceded in death by his father, Amador Cantu, his mother, Cedalallin Hildalgo, his sister, Lorenza Martinez, and his brothers, Amador Cantu and Vicente Cantu.

In his free time, Salome enjoyed traveling, fishing, and boating. These hobbies allowed him to explore new places and connect with nature, bringing him great joy.

Services for Salome will be held Friday, February 23rd, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Oaks, located at 2020 Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas 78840. The viewing will begin at 9am, with the service to follow at 11:30am. Burial will take place in Langtry, Texas at 2pm.

Sunset Memorial Oaks in Del Rio, Texas, is assisting the family with the arrangements for Salome's passing.

Salome Hildalgo Cantu will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May his soul rest in peace.
