With tremendous sadness we announce our Ryan went to be with our Lord on November 8, 2020 surrounded by his Dad, Mom, and Sister. Ryan was one of life's treasures, who welcomed everyone with a great big hug. His wit and sarcasm will be missed by all because he always made everyone smile and laugh. His contagious smile and the mischievous twinkle in his eyes brightened everyone's day. He made the world happier by just being himself. He was full of integrity and character. His motto in life was there were no strangers, just friends he had not yet met. Ryan entered this world on January 6, 1973 in Pomona, California. He immediately was and forever will be Mama's baby boy. For the Christmas a month before his 3rd birthday, Ryan was introduced to what would be the first of his 3 loves of his life when he was given a plastic bat, a Whiffle ball, and a baseball glove. He would spend every waking moment playing baseball and would start a habit of sleeping with all his baseball gear which lasted for several years. He excelled at baseball during his childhood and into adulthood. He played in Little League, All Star League, and on his High School team as a catcher. During his Junior year of high school, he grew too tall to catch and became one of the leading relief pitchers for Analy High School (Go Tigers!) and Santa Rosa Junior College. He continued to play semi pro league even after he joined the United States Marine Corp in 1996 which became the second time he experienced true love and purpose in his life. During his 19 years of honorable service to our great country, he continued to inspire, excel, and lead. He was attached to the 7th ESB which included titles of Combat Engineer, Military Police, Combat Instructor at Quantico, Recruiter, Engineer Equipment Instructor, and Engineer Shop Leader in Okinawa. What he was destined for and most proud of was his time as a Squad Leader in Fallujah during Operation Iraqi Freedom and in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. Ask anyone who served with Ryan during his deployments and they will tell you countless stories of how he loved, protected, supported, and inspired "His Marines". While stationed in Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri he met and married Kara. Together, with Ryan's step son Mikey, they welcomed Eva Faith into the world on Feb 17, 2009. On that day, he met his 3rd and most precious love of his life and new purpose in his life. In true Ryan fashion, he shared his love for his country, his fellow Veterans, baseball, the San Diego Chargers, fishing, the LA Dodgers, swimming, kayaking, and the Texas way of life with his "Ladybug" Eva. As with too many of our warriors, when he retired from the Marine Corps in 2015, Ryan was faced with the physical and emotional pain of his time deployed. He again found true purpose and comfort working with fellow Veterans since moving to Texas. Among his proudest accomplishments are being a court appointed Veteran Advocate in Bexar and Comal Counties, Founder of the local San Antonio Chapter of "22 Until None", member of the Combat Vets Association M.C. and Ranch Manager for SS American Memorial Ranch located in Sequin Texas. His time was spent volunteering, mentoring, kicking your butt to excel and just being there as a huge presence physically, spiritually, and emotionally to everyone he loved and admired. At the time of his death, he was studying at Waylon Baptist University to become a counselor for his beloved brothers and sisters in arms. Ryan is survived by his parents Mike and Jan Pieraccini; sister Rebecca Sedgwick; daughter Eva; step son Mikey; brother from another mother Cullen Sedgwick; Niece Emma France; Nephews Blake Midtlie and Mark Sedgwick; Eva's mom Kara Pieraccini; Numerous Uncles, Aunts, and cousins He is joined now in Heaven with his beloved Nana, Aunt Sissy, Uncle Tom, Grandparents, and many of his beloved Marines. Sequin, Texas 78155 Visitation prior 2-5pm and Reception following 6-9pm. Private graveside services will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery San Antonio Texas on December 1st.
