Ruth Hernandez-Abrego, 85, of Del Rio, entered into God's kingdom on June 25, 2023. She was born April 29, 1938, to Alfredo and Cleodora Hernandez.

Ruth, the most loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother is survived by her son, Alfredo Abrego and wife Linda; son, Marcos; daughter, Diana Delgado and husband Joe; son in laws, Smiley Ybarra and John Duke; daughter in laws, Brenda Abrego and Tammy Abrego; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruth is predeceased by her husband, Manuel Abrego Sr.; sons, Manuel Abrego Jr., Felipe Abrego, and Jacob Abrego; daughters, Sylvia Ybarra and Ruth Duke; parents, Alfredo and Cleodora Hernandez; brothers, Ramiro and Ruben Hernandez; sister, Rachel Zapata.

Ruth was a follower of the Lord, and relied heavily on her faith to guide her in life. She was a devoted wife of 47 years, and our family knows she is rejoicing with her one true love. Ruth was a homemaker, committed as a wife and mother to her eight children. When grandchildren came, she took on the role of grandmother with love and care.

The Abrego family will miss the sweet smile, and gentle laugh of a beautiful God-fearing woman. We hold steadfast in our faith, and belief that one day we will see our beautiful mother and grandmother again.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Iglesia Bautista Buen Pastor at 601 Ware St.

The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
