Ruben V. Alcantara, age 55, joined his creator on Monday, July 2, 2018, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Waco, TX. He was born August 28, 1962, in Mexico City, to Pablo Alcantara and Antonia Vargas. He married Evangelina Arellano on June 29, 1985 in Mexico City. He was a faithful servant to the Lord and attended UNETEM Unidad de Estudios Teologicos en Mexico in Mexico City and later went on to spread His word in Del Rio, TX. Ruben lived a life rich of experiences, but above all, he loved God with all of his heart. He is survived by his wife, Evangelina, sons: David and Benjamin, and daughters; Sara, Eva, and Merary. Ruben will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, fearful servant, cherished friend, avid traveler, and devoted grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Prayer Service at 6:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
