Obituary

Rose Crim Deike, born on May 21, 1947, in Greenville, Texas, went to be with her Savior on Monday, December 30, 2024, at her home. Over the past months, Rose courageously battled cancer, and while her passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, her family rejoices in the promise that she is now free from pain, reunited with her Creator, and has received the gift of eternal life through Christ.Rose lived a life marked by faith, love, learning, and adventure. She graduated from the University of Texas with both her undergraduate and master's degrees in mathematics, which led her to a 40-plus-year career as a math professor. Her passion for teaching and her genuine care for others left a lasting impact on countless lives.In 1971, Rose married the love of her life, Kenneth Deike, and together they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, family, and shared adventures. She was preceded in death by her parents, E.T. and Margaret Crim, and her brother, Bruce Crim. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Kenneth; her daughters, Erika (Chuck) Short and Whitney (Chris) Cline; her grandchildren, Hunter and Kenzie Cline, Gabi (Hunter) Holmes, Sophia Short, and great-granddaughter Julianna Holmes; her brother, David (Marleta) Crim; and her mother-in-law, Margaret Deike.Rose's greatest love was her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her faith served as the cornerstone of her life. Her unwavering devotion to her family and friends radiated through in the love and encouragement she generously shared. She found great joy in traveling, a passion she instilled in her children, inspiring them to appreciate the beauty of the world. Rose also treasured time spent with friends and in Bible study. At home, she found peace in her garden with worship music as her constant companion.Rose's legacy of faith, sharp wit, and heartfelt care for others will remain a source of inspiration to all who knew her. Her memory will be forever cherished by her family, friends, and everyone whose lives she impacted.A service to give thanks to God and celebrate Rose's life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonewall, Texas, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a luncheon.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Samaritan's Purse or Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonewall, Texas.
