Rosalva Lizcano Lopez, 72, entered eternal life on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, in the presence of her loving husband and children. She was preceded into Heaven by her parents, Rodolfo and Hortencia Lizcano, her brothers Rodolfo and Roel and sister, Alicia Banda. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Francisco Lopez Sr., and their four sons: Francisco Jr., and Ayda, David Ramiro and Veronica, Daniel and Corrie, Tomas Eliseo and Andrea; and Melissa Lopez. Her grandchildren are: Seth Solomon and Israel Enoch; David Gilbert Espinoza, Roger Anthony (Tammy) Espinoza, Derek Ramiro, and Caleb Frank (Jennifer); Christopher Akira, Johnathan Ezra, Zoey Madison and Meyah Michele; and Olivia Mireya and Saria Nicole. Rose had three great-grandchildren: Sebastian Anthony, Olivia Ximena, and Julian Frank. She is also survived by her two sisters: Ruth Saldana and Raquel Lizcano, and four brothers: Ruben, Mario, Rene, and Ramiro. She was greatly loved by her many nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives. Mom had a great sense of humor and our times together were filled with jokes and laughter. She was a fierce fighter for her family and once you got into her heart, she loved you without judgment or condemnation. Her grandchildren knew they could speak to her about anything. For many, she was their best friend. Mom was gregarious and made lifelong friendships wherever she went. She was raised in south Texas and graduated from Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School. She inspired children to read and explore the world and started teaching with the Head Start Program in Alamo, Texas. She was also a private Christian elementary school teacher in Del Rio. Most importantly, Rose raised her children in the ways of the Lord and imparted that knowledge to her family. Her father was a Pentecostal minister and that legacy and blessing lives on in her children and grandchildren. Through the calm times and the storms of life, she kept her eyes on Jesus Christ. She was faithful to her husband and, as a mentor to young wives, shared her wisdom often. Mom was selfless, compassionate, and generous to people in need. The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Sunday, February, 25, 2018 from 4:00 PM-9:00 PM, and a celebration of life memorial will start at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Del Rio, Texas. Chapel Service will be held Monday, February 26, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
