Obituary

Rosalinda Rubio, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the age of 74. She was born on March 23, 1949, in Sanderson, Texas, to Joe C. and Mary Blanche S. Garcia.Rosalinda was a true Texan, having been raised in Fort Stockton. On May 4, 1968, she entered into matrimony with her beloved husband, Raul. Together, they shared a beautiful journey, raising three loving sons. Rosalinda's life was characterized by her unwavering devotion to her family and her steadfast faith as a Catholic.She was an active and cherished member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where her dedication was evident through her involvement with various ministries. Rosalinda was deeply committed to serving others, exemplified by her roles as the Director of the youth group and Search ministry, as well as her service as a Eucharist Minister. Additionally, she received training as a paraprofessional counselor and provided invaluable support to individuals grappling with addiction to alcohol, drugs, and gambling.Rosalinda is survived by her loving husband, Raul Rubio, her sons: Nunie and wife Linda, Robert Jason and wife Mary, and Anthony and wife Rain. She also leaves behind 12 cherished grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, Joe A. Garcia, Jr. and his wife, Nina, along with her niece, Naomi Garcia Alvarez, and nephew, Nick Garcia, along with their families.She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe C. and Mary Blanche Garcia, as well as her grandparents, Nicolas and Francisca Salinas, and Adolfo and Natividad Garcia.A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7th, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, March 8th, at 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, with the Most Reverend Joe S. Vasquez, Bishop of the Diocese of Austin, presiding. Burial will follow at Hill Country Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 2:00 pm.Rosalinda's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
