Rolando C. Chavez, age 77, entered into rest on Friday, November 11, 2016 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born on October 15, 1939 in Ciudad Acuna, Coahuila, Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents Sotero and Maria De Los Angeles Chavez, brother Manuel C. Chavez, sisters Maria Antonia Del Socorro Ponce and Maria Guadalupe Martinez. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years Elisa R. Chavez, son Rolando Chavez, Jr., daughter Rosa Maria Chavez Gonzalez and husband Francisco, brother Gilberto C. Chavez, sisters Maria Del Rosario Chavez Rivera and Juanita De La Paz. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
