Roberto H. Zavala, Jr., age 36, entered into rest on Friday, April 19, 2024 in Kinney County, Texas. He was born on January 13, 1988.
Roberto was affectionately known by many as Fridge, Robby or Coach Rob. He served in the US Army for 10 years & was a respected Purple Heart recipient. He was a very dedicated husband and dad. Loved spending time with his children & wife and valued family time very much. He loved coaching his own kids in soccer and football but loved supporting the Del Rio sports community. He will be missed so much but will always be carried in the hearts of everyone who loved him. He always loved to remind us of his favorite quotes: Querías Boxing and I'm too pretty to die, those will always be remembered by his loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his father Roberto H Zavala Sr. Daughter Joselynn I Zavala. Nephew Rogelio Gallegos III. Paternal Grandparents Herminio Gonzalez Zavala & Eustaquia Dela Rosa Zavala. Maternal Grandparents Eugenio Garcia Torrres, Guadalupe Lopez Torres.
He is survived by his wife Maria Zavala, daughters Nelly Zavala, Pilar Zavala & son Calixto Zavala. Mother Josefina Zavala, sister Tana Zavala & brother Daniel Zavala. Father & Mother in law Mauricio & Conchita Patuel, sisters in law Rosy Patuel, Teresa Castro & brother in law Ramon Patuel. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Horacio Salazar, Salvador Pascasio, Richard Colombo, Julio Patuel, Pedro Castro and Carlos Muñiz. Honorary Pallbearer Calixto Zavala.
The visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM; recitation of the Holy Rosary at 5:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
The mass of christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
