Robert Luis Hernandez, a proud United States Air Force veteran, devoted husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, at the age of 70.

Born on June 21, 1954, in Corpus Christi, TX to the late Guadalupe Solorio Hernandez and Maria de Jesus Villarreal Hernandez. Robert lived a life defined by service, strength, and love. President of the Del Rio Lion's Club, he served his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force and then in civil service in the 47th Maintenance Directorate at Laughlin Air Force Base, where he built lifelong friendships and embodied the values of dedication, discipline, and integrity. These values shaped his character and guided every part of his life.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Monica Hernandez, who stood by his side with unwavering devotion. He was a proud father to his children: Roberto Luis Hernandez Jr. (Cynthia), Ramiro Luis Hernandez (Elizabeth), Bianca Isela Vasquez, and Esteban Carlos Ibarra. He was a cherished grandfather to ten grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. Together, they created a blended family filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.

He will be remembered for his steady spirit, warm heart, and great sense of humor. An avid fisherman, Robert found peace and happiness on the water, and he loved sharing his passion for fishing with his children and grandchildren. His legacy of love, service, and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM; recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.

The mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 510 Wernett St, Del Rio, Texas.

The interment will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Coastal Bend Veteran Cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410
