With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Roberto Gonzalez, who died peacefully at his home in New Braunfels, Texas, at the age of 67.

Roberto was born in China, Nuevo León, México, in 1958. He lived a full and vibrant life, rooted in love for family, music, and the land. A man of many talents and unwavering dedication, Roberto was known for being an incredibly hard worker — always providing for his family and giving his best in everything he did, both in his career and at home.

In his younger years, he was the drummer in the band Los Astros de China, where he shared his deep love of music and brought joy to many, through rhythm and song. Later in life, he found peace in gardening, nurturing the earth with the same care and devotion he gave to his family.

Roberto is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Gonzalez, and his four children; Erica Mattera, Robert Gonzalez, Yadira Suarez, and Stephanie Bauer. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a steady presence in the lives of those who knew him.

He was also the cherished grandfather of eight grandchildren, one of whom now watches over the family from heaven. His legacy of love, strength and hard work will live on through each of them.

Whether behind a drum set, working tirelessly to support his family, or tending to his garden, Roberto lived with quiet dignity and deep purpose. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the love, example, and values he passed on.

Con profundo dolor, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Roberto Gonzalez, quien partió en paz en su hogar en New Braunfels, Texas, a la edad de 67 años.

Roberto nació en China, Nuevo León, México, en 1958. Vivió una vida plena y vibrante, basada en el amor por su familia, la música y la tierra. Hombre de muchos talentos y de una dedicación inquebrantable, Roberto fue conocido por ser un trabajador incansable, siempre esforzándose al máximo para proveer a su familia y cumplir con todo lo que se proponía.

En su juventud, fue baterista de la banda Los Astros de China, donde compartió su profunda pasión por la música y brindó alegría a muchos con su ritmo y energía. Más adelante, encontró paz en la jardinería, cultivando la tierra con el mismo cuidado y amor con el que cuidaba a su familia.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Marie Gonzalez, y sus cuatro hijos: Erica Mattera, Robert Gonzalez, Yadira Suarez y Stephanie Bauer. Fue un esposo devoto, un padre orgulloso y una presencia firme en la vida de todos los que lo conocieron.

También fue un abuelo muy querido de ocho nietos —uno de los cuales ahora cuida de la familia desde el cielo. Su legado de amor, fortaleza y trabajo perdurará en cada uno de ellos.

Ya sea detrás de una batería, trabajando con esfuerzo para su familia o cuidando su jardín, Roberto vivió con dignidad silenciosa y un profundo propósito. Será recordado no solo por la vida que vivió, sino por el amor, el ejemplo y los valores que dejó a quienes lo amaron.
