Robert "Steve" Glenn Stephens Jr.
1948 – 2020
Steve passed away peacefully, July 27, 2020.
He was born on November 9, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas to Robert Glenn Stephens Sr. and Dorothy Waitz Stephens. He is survived by his loving wife Karla Stephens, and brother Mark Stephens. Daughters, Andi Barlow and her husband, Dr. John Barlow, PhD.; Dr. Lindsay Stephens, D.O. and her husband, Matt Powell; Megan Stephens and her husband, Matthew Perkins, and Nicole Bagster. Grandchildren, Emily Toomey, Stephen Perkins, and Jack Barlow.
Graduating from MacArthur high school in 1967, Steve went on to attend Texas Tech University before serving his country in Vietnam. He was an avid fishermen and found joy and relaxation when on the water. Steve had a lifelong career in automotive and had a love for everything on four wheels. As the owner of the specialty garage, Z-Car Shop in San Antonio, TX, and Main St. Garage in Schertz TX, that hard work and passion breathed life into countless muscle cars, and brought security and trust to the communities he served. He may have had his chassis rebuilt over the years, and swapped out his original equipment for remanufactured, but he was always going full throttle. In the end, he simply ran out of gas as he lay down for his final rest. He was custom built, and passed as a classic.
In memorial, family and friends will be taking him fishing one last time on September 26 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family has request all donations to go towards C.C.A.
