Ray Aron Felts, 85 of Del Rio, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 5, 2024 at his home in Del Rio, Texas, with his family by his side.

Ray was born October 15, 1939 to parents Katherine Powell Felts and Morris Felts in Borger, Texas. The family later moved to Pleasanton, where he and his sisters enjoyed playing sports and where he began his love for the outdoors. Upon graduation from Pleasanton High School, Ray enlisted in the military and served his time in Germany as a helicopter mechanic. After 4 years in the Army, he returned to Texas, where he met and married Martha Ferguson and began a long career in the automobile business. Ray worked various positions for Tom Benson dealerships in San Antonio, New Orleans and Del Rio. He and Martha settled in Del Rio where he worked at the Graf & Barton Ford Dealership for many years. He eventually opened Credit Motor Company in Del Rio and Uvalde, with his sons, Keith and Rusel.

In his free time, Ray enjoyed raising and racing mules and horses. He and his family traveled to many mule and horse races in Texas while Keith, Lanna and Rusel were growing up. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in the hay field; anything to do with the outdoors made him happy.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Martha Ferguson Felts of Del Rio, Texas and children: son, Rusel Felts (Adriana) of San Antonio, Texas and daughter, Lanna Kay Felts Knodel (Darrel) of New Braunfels, Texas; grandchildren, Haden, Hannah, Katie, Sara, Heather and Dillon; great grandchild, Stella; sister, Ronna Felts Friesenhahn and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, Keith Felts; sister, Morris Kay Felts; parents, Katherine Felts and Morris Felts; grandparents, Claude A. Powell and Ethel Hood Powell and Aron "Fisher" Felts and Nancy Kinnington Felts.

Funeral services for Ray Aron Felts will be held at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cremations, 2020 N Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas on Monday, November 11. Viewing will be from 9am- 10:30am. Service will begin at 10:30am.

A private burial will be held at a later date at the Pleasanton City Cemetery.
