Raul Giron went peacefully with The Lord on Saturday, November 24, 2018 surrounded by his family at Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center in Eagle Pass, Texas he was 95. Mr. Giron was born on January 17, 1923 in Mexico City to his parents Federico and Victoria Giron. He served in the Mexican Armed Forces before coming to the United States in 1951. He became a US Citizen in 1971 and worked as a merchant marine for 21 years where he had the opportunity to travel the world. Mr. Giron enjoyed jazz and big band voices such as; The Glenn Miller Band, Tom Darcy, Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald. He enjoyed watching classical movies and boxing. He is preceded in death by his father, Federico Giron; his mother, Victoria Ortiz Giron; his brothers, Cesar Giron, Alfredo Juarez Giron, and Federico Enrique Giron. Mr. Giron is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Mrs. San Juana Garza Giron, his 8 children; Victoria Giron and her husband Rolando Gomez, Blanca Estella Giron, Raul Giron Jr. and his wife Maricela Trevino Giron, Cesar Giron and his wife Petra (Tita) Giron, Federico Giron and his wife Cynthia Giron, George Giron and his wife Mayra Giron, Lourdes Molano and her husband Alonzo Molano, Lydia Sosa and her husband Steve Edward Sosa and 20 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Prayer Service at 7:00 PM with Pastor Abel Lopez officiating at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home; Pastor Martin Seca will be officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nursing and medical team at FDRMC in Eagle Pass, Texas for the exceptional care and attention they provided during his last days.
