Raul Barksdale, age 78, entered into  rest on January 31, 2026, in Del Rio, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 2, 1947. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angelica Barksdale.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Rosa Maria Barksdale; his son Raul Barksdale Jr. and his wife Cinthia, along with their daughters Charlotte and Samantha; his daughter Melissa Castaño and her husband Ruben, their children Daniel, Izahia, and Zoey, as well as his great-grandchildren; and his son Sergio Barksdale and his son Jack.

Raul was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and beloved brother. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.

He will forever remain in our hearts and memories.

The visitation will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a recitation of the holy rosary at 6:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.

The visitation will continue on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home; followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 510 Wernett St, Del Rio, Texas.

The interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 5144 Hwy 90 East, Del Rio, Texas.
