Obituary

Ralph Meckel, known to most as "Turkey" (nickname from his Boss at CPS,) passed away on May 2, 2024. He was born in Comfort, Texas, on July 10, 1938, to Loving parents, Mr. Henry Meckel and Mrs. Erna Meckel.Ralph is survived by his wife, Rhonda M. Bateman Meckel, children; Dale Meckel, Donna Malkosky, their spouses and children, 1 lost son, their mother, Arlene Johnson, stepson, Raymond Darrell Whitt, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. And countless friends.Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harry Meckel, his wife Tina Meckel, four aunts and their spouses, other family and countless friends.Served in the Army Honorable discharge 1963 Ralph was a Mason 50+ yrs. now of Canyon Lake Masonic Lodge #1425. Worked at City Public Service in San Antonio 36 yrs. retired. Canyon Lake Yacht Club. He loved to hunt, fish and Bowl 9 pin in Fischer Tx. Eat at Horse Shoe Grill, Tues- Thurs meet at the VFW to visit with friends.A Celebration of his life will be held on June 14, 2024, at 10:00AM reception will follow after the service at Fischer Hall, 701 Fischer Store Rd. Fischer, Tx. 78623 where he spent many years serving on the Board helping care for one of his favorite places.
