Praxedes Laming King passed into the arms of the Lord on Sunday June 4, 2023 at Colonial Living Nursing Home in Bay City, she was 89. Praxedes was born on September 20, 1933 in Burauen, Leyte, Philippines to the late Esperanza Tonido and Patricio Laming.

Praxedes grew up in the Philippines where she met the love of her life, John Dee King. The two wed on June 17, 1961, in the Philippines while John was serving in the United States Air Force. Later, John was transferred to a new base in Texas, and they settled in Del Rio, Texas where together they raised their beautiful, blended family. Praxedes and John were married for 25 years until the time of John's passing on April 3, 1987. Her family will always fondly remember her for her amazing talents as a seamstress. In their younger years, her children remember when Mom would have a selection of fabric patterns, and they could design their own clothing. Later in life, Praxedes found great joy in gardening. She would grow fruits and vegetables, and just loved being outdoors as much as possible.

She is survived by her children Patricia Ann Billings (the late Kim Eric), Daniel Dee King (Katherine), many grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her children Jocylene Antonio, Denzel King, Denise Prado, Catherine King and her granddaughter Michelle King. The family would like to give a special thanks to Colonial Rehab, IPH Hospice and Dr. Shanta D'Lima for the care they showed to their Mom.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Tuesday, June 13th from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave., Del Rio, Texas 78840. Funeral mass to begin at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Del Rio.

Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
