Petra M. Benites, of Castroville, passed away on October 23, 2020 at the age of 91 years. She was born April 29, 1929 in Brackettville, Texas to Felipe C. Martinez and Isabel Val Verde Martinez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Isabel Martinez; husband, Florentino T. Benites; sons, Victoriano and Florentino Benites, Jr., daughters, Diana Trevino, Dora Villarreal, and Belinda Alonzo. Sisters, Jovita Benites, Isabel Martinez, and Tanislada Moreno, and brothers, Bonfacio Martinez and Porfirio Martinez. Grandson, Isaac Benites. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Maria Alvizo (Joe) of San Antonio; sons, Jose Benites (Beatrice) of Brackettville and Joel Benites (Rosalinda) of New Braunfels. nineteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Felipe Martinez, Jr. of Brackettville and sister, Celstina Hernandez of Brackettville. Best friend, Darlene Salinas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 9:00 AM at Brackettville Sunset Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery.
