Penny Y. Graves of New Braunfels, TX, age 64, passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband, son, and daughter. She was born on July 16, 1960, at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. Penny bravely faced pancreatic cancer over the past year with strength, grace, and unwavering love for her family. Her presence was a source of comfort and joy, and she touched the lives of many with her kindness, resilience, and warm heart. She is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, John A. Graves. The two met while serving in the U.S. Air Force at Langley AFB, Virginia, in October 1980, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love, service, and laughter. Penny was a proud and loving mother to her two children, Lt Col John "Ryan" Graves (Abbie) and Shannon Millen (Lt Col Burdette Millen). She adored being "Gigi" to her four grandchildren—Jensyn (10), Jonas (8), Jordan (6), and Holden (8)—who brought her immeasurable joy. Whether she was baking cupcakes, building blanket forts, or creating silly adventures, Penny made every moment magical for her grandchildren. She shared a deep bond with her sisters, Pamela Gibson Miller (Ray) and Kristi Gibson, and is also survived by her brother, Steve Gibson (Sherry). Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Norman E. Gibson and Joan Healy Gibson. She also leaves behind many treasured friends and family members who joined her for monthly girls' lunches, estate sales, and spontaneous new adventures. Whether with friends or family, Penny lived fully and joyfully, bringing her warm, generous spirit wherever she went. Penny proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1980 to 1986 and continued her professional journey as a Practice Administrator for an OBGYN group, a role she held with care and excellence until her retirement 13 years ago. She was beautiful and funny and lit up every room she entered. With a rare and radiant gift for making those around her feel seen, special, and deeply valued, Penny's presence was a light in the lives of all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered. A Celebration of Life will be held at her home on July 19th. More details will follow.
