Pedro Antonio Castillo, age 79, entered into rest on Monday, September 18, 2023 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born on October 14, 1943 in Laredo, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Epifania Castillo of Oxnard California, 53 years of marriage; his sons: Adrian Castillo and his wife Denise, and Paul Castillo; One grandson, Nathan Castillo; his brothers Juan and Wicho, and sisters Maruca and Lucy.

MSgt Pedro (Pete) Castillo served his country with 26 years of impeccable service in the Air Force and his last duty location was Del Rio, TX as the Air Force Recruiter. He also served in Vietnam and upon his return he married Epifania Corral. After retiring, Pete went to work immediately as the Junior ROTC instructor in Eagle Pass TX for 22 years. His commitment to family, service, community and country are unparalleled. He will be greatly missed as a husband, father, friend, role model and brother to many. He enlisted an unimaginable number of applicants in the Air Force shaping it into what the Air Force has become today. He has guided and mentored thousands of students over his 22 year career as an JROTC instructor and many of his students chose the Air Force path. Everyone that crossed paths with Pete had a positive impact on their lives. Not to mention, he was a die hard Cowboys fan and a very proud Texan, regardless if the Cowboys were Super bowl Champs or had the worst record in the NFL, he was always supporting his team.

We find peace knowing that he is reunited with his parents Antonio and Jesusa, his siblings Antonio (Tony), Carlos & Delores (Lola)

Family will be receiving friends and relatives on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a memorial service at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.

Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Air Force Honor Guard and the American Legion Post #595.
