Paul Q.
Stover
Jun 26, 1938 — Feb 12, 2024
Paul Q. Stover, age 85, entered into rest on Monday, February 12, 2024 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born on June 26, 1938.
Paul was born in Iraan, Texas, and grew up in Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife Guillermina Bósquez Stover, his stepson Pedro A. Rodriguez, his daughter Lori S. Cole and grandson Trevor.
After joining the U.S. Navy, he settled in the Bay Area of San Francisco, California. He thrived there! He made deep friendships with European ex-pats.
He built his own yacht and sailed in his beloved Bay Area. He was an avid adventurer—he single handedly sailed to Hawaii. In the mid 1970s, he undertook a 6-month adventure of a lifetime. He and his family—his first wife and 7-year-old daughter—rode motorcycles from San Francisco to the Panama Canal. They drove through Mexico and most of Central America—Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama. They not only immersed themselves in the culture of each country, they were accepted and nurtured by the people of each country.
He arrived in Del Rio, Texas, in 1993, after being hired as an electrical engineer at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, where he met his future wife Guillermina.
There will be no visitation or funeral services for Mr. Stover.
