On May 26, 2024, Ovelia Paz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed into eternal rest.At the resounding age of 93 she still enjoyed conversations and never wanted to leave a family gathering.Ovelia was an avid reader and longtime subscriber to both the Herald-Zeitung and San Antonio Express newspapers. She enjoyed reading the daily news while sipping on a cup of coffee and eating pan dulce.A big lover of nature, Ovelia enjoyed sitting outside on her porch and checking on her flower bed. She was also one of the biggest sports fans around and especially loved her San Antonio Spurs. "Go Spurs Go!"Traveling by airplane was a joy especially when she flew to visit family out of state. After she could no longer travel, she lived vicariously through her children and grandchildren. Ovelia loved souvenirs and a compilation of magnets collected over the years from places she and family visited were displayed on the home's refrigerator door.She will be greatly missed for her giving spirit, concern for others and her honest remarks. Ovelia is preceded in death by her parents, Sixto and Andrea (Serna) Perez; brother, Francisco Perez; father and mother in-law, Matteo and Tranquilina (Delgado) Paz; sons, Jesus Paz, Jr. and Eduardo Paz and granddaughter, Leslie (Paz) Baldridge.Ovelia is survived by her husband of 70 years, Jesus Paz, Sr.; her daughters, Anna (Paz) Gonzales, Eloisa (Paz) Gomez and Christina (Paz) Campos; sons, José Paz, Armando Paz, Rafael Paz and Jorge Paz. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary starting at 7:00pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home 415 S.
