Norma
Calderon De Casillas
Dec 7, 1939 — Jun 1, 2025
Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Norma Leticia Calderon de Casillas, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the age of 85 years. She was born on December 7, 1939, the second of five children to Jose Calderon Espinoza and Francisca Losoya Rodriguez. Normita, as she was known, attended school in Ciudad Acuna at the Colegio America, where her legacy of building lifelong friendships and bonds began. In 1964, she married her forever companion, Cesar Enrique Casillas Valadez, and together they created a beautiful family.
Normita was known for her kindness, sense of humor, strength, and bravery throughout her life. Her sense of generosity knew no boundaries. When she gave, she gave 100%. She was an unstoppable force and an example to everyone who knew her. She defined magnificence. She lived life to the fullest, with passion, no regrets, or fear. She found laughter in everything she did and shared her humor with everyone who knew her. She loved to travel, and everywhere she went, she made friends, who would then become her family too. Her home, friends and family fed her soul -- her home was a haven for hope, laughter and honesty. She was well-known for hosting impromptu celebrations and loterias. Normita will be remembered as a true warrior, her words carried encouragement, and her presence brought comfort. After spending time with her, you always walked away with a smile, a good laugh, a full stomach and more light in your heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Cesar, her parents, Jose y Francisca, her brothers Jose Calderon Jr., Cesar Calderon Losoya, Maria Elena Calderon de Morales and Alma Rosa Calderon de Flores.
Left to cherish and honor her memory are her children: Norma Veronica, Cesar Gerardo and Francisca Celina; her grandchildren: Santiago and Sarah; her son in laws: Frank & EJ and daughter in law: Laura.
