Nolberto A. Farias, Sr. of New Braunfels passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the age of 86. He was born on June 29, 1931 in New Braunfels to Alfredo Farias and Jesus Alva Farias. He married Grace Saenz and the two had been married for 62 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had been employed with Mission Valley Mills for over 20 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4183, Holy Name Society, Cursillo religious organization and Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters Jesus, Alfredo, Rafael, Eloy, Lino, Felix, Reynaldo, Filimon Farias, Luisa Rios, Hortencia Gallardo, Elisa Soliz and Jackie Carrillo. He is survived by his beloved wife Grace Farias; son Nolberto Farias, Jr. and his wife Monica; daughters Barbara Perez and her husband Crespin, Sandi Alvarez and her husband Rick; grandchildren; Martina Marie Lopez (Refugio), Vanessa Renee Dillon (James), Alexandria Veronica Perez (Steven Holland), Paul Anthony Shane (Katherine), Jacqueline Kay Sitz (Tristan), Richard-Daniel Armendariz (Kayleen), Marissa Grace Farias, Chloe Grace Farias; great-grand Children; Paul Mickael Shane, Ethan Russell Shane, Luke Anthony Shane, Skylar Kennedy Shane, Claire McKinnely Shane, Richard Daniel Armendariz II, Zaine Christopher Armendariz, Elise Carrington Sitz , Felicity Ann Sitz, Keller Scott Sitz, Ada Margarite Dillon, Stone Morgan Dillon, Judah Forrest Dillon, Sydney Marie Lopez, Liam Michael Refugio Lopez, Noah Wesley Holland, Nicholas Alexander Holland. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews Visitation will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 5 PM to 9 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10 AM at the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery #1. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Shane, Richard Armendariz, James Dillon, Refugio Lopez, Tristan Sitz and Paul Michael Shane.
