Nicolas Flores Chavarria, Sr., age 89, entered into rest on Sunday, March 9, 2025 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born on January 5, 1936. He was preceded in death by his parents Nicolas Chavarria, Sr. and Presentacion Flores Chavarria; children Xavier V. Chavarria and Nicolas V. Chavarria, Jr; siblings Blanca Olivas & Enriqueta Zarco.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Maria E. Chavarria; daughter Maricela Mijares; sister Romelia Chavarria & Baldemar Chavarria; grandchildren Briana Chavarria, Nicole Chavarria Levrie, Fabian M. Garcia, Miguel A. Mijares, III, and Xavier A. Mijares; great-grandchildren Fabian N. Garcia, Christopher Chavarria-Flores, Sofia A. Garcia, Diego Garcia, Greyson Levrie and Kolson Levrie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave.

The mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 509 W. Garza St.

Gentlemen with the honor of pallbearers are Miguel A. Mijares, Fermin Chavarria, Fermin Chavarria, Jr, Joe Lee Chavarria, Aldo Olivas, Javier Olivas.

The interment will follow Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 5144 Hwy 90 East.
