Nelson L. Elemen, 73, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, with his loved ones by his side. A prayer service will be held on Sunday, October 8th at 1pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home - New Braunfels Chapel. Nelson was born December 14, 1949, in San Jose, California, to Maria L. Ybarra and Nelson Elemen. Mr. Elemen was a veteran of the United States Army, served in the Vietnam war and worked in the survey department. Following his service in the US Army, Mr. Elemen put his hands to use as he was a handyman of all trades. His hands were working hands, that built and fixed many things to provide for his family and lend a helping hand to those who needed one. Nelson married Margarita Ramos Elemen on January 14, 1971, in Uvalde, Texas, where they started their family. They were blessed with three children; Nelson Jr., Eric, and Laura. He is survived by his wife of 51 years; Margarita R. Elemen, his daughter Laura Elemen Martinez and spouse Andres, his son Eric Elemen, both of San Antonio; his six sisters, Ofelia Castillo and spouse Richard of San Antonio, Marry Jo Ybarra of Del Rio, Jo Elda Velez Suarez of Houston, Lupe Elemen Macias and spouse Arturo of California, Esther Elemen and spouse Elias of California and Maria Tapia and spouse Victor of Del Rio; six brothers Roy Elemen, Roberto Juarez and spouse Nancy, Alfredo Juarez and spouse Mary of San Antonio and Armando Elemen and spouse Beverly of San Jose, California, Paul Elemen, Nelson Elemen and Danny Elemen of California; five granddaughters, Alyssa Elemen, Samantha Vargas, Alexis Carbone, Alayna Elemen, Ava DeLeon; two grandsons, Aiden and Ethan Martinez; great grandchildren, Jude Vargas, Cienna and Madeline Carbone; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria L. Ybarra; father, Nelson Elemen; son, Nelson Elemen Jr.; Maternal and Paternal Grandparents.
