Michael David
Baker
Oct 26, 1975 — Aug 17, 2024
Michael David Baker, born on October 26, 1975, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on August 17, 2024, in Del Rio, Texas. Michael was a beloved son, brother, and friend who brought light and joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. From a young age, Michael demonstrated responsibility and commitment, earning the rank of Eagle Scout, qualities that remained with him throughout his life. He went on to become a licensed master electrician, applying his skills to his work and the lives of those around him. Beyond his profession, Michael obtained a CDL and took pride in operating and managing his own tractor-trailer. He was always ready with a warm smile, and his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
Though Michael faced challenges that were not always visible to others, he will always be remembered for the love, laughter, and positivity he brought into the world. His ability to connect with people and his desire to make a difference in the lives of others were among his greatest gifts. Michael is survived by his father, James "Skip" Baker, his older brother, James Lamar Baker, and numerous other family members across Texas, Oklahoma, and Oregon. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Rhonda Baker. The impact Michael had on his family, friends, and community will never be forgotten.
We will gather to remember the life of our beloved Michael. Though words cannot fully express the sorrow we feel, we invite family and friends to join us in a remembrance ceremony on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home at 3:00pm. If you are unable to attend due to other commitments, please know that we understand completely, and we hold no expectations.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly suggest making a donation to organizations dedicated to mental health and/or addiction disorders, to help others in need.
