Mercedes Talavera, age 92, entered into rest on Friday, September 21, 2018 in Del Rio, Texas. She was born on September 24, 1925 in Boquillas del Carmen, Coahuila, Mexico on the banks of the Rio Grande, Mercedes Talavera lived a life unimaginable. She was preceded in death by her husband Adolfo Talavera. On September 24 she would have been 93 years old. Alive in the time that the automobile appeared on our roads, during the Great Depression, through a World War, through struggles and through triumphs. Her intelligence and entrepreneurial spirit always keeping her one step ahead. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters Maria del Rosario and Maria. Daughter and son in law Olga and Arturo Maga�a, granddaughters Marisa and Ginette Maga�a, and her great granddaughter Alejandra Verastegui, four generations of strong willed individuals just like her. A long time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe church, she was the epitome of service to others.
