Obituary

Mary Jane McDonald Jaso entered her rest peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in Belton, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She was proceeded in death by her parents Maria Reschman and Samuel McDonald, husband - Ernest Jaso, son - Ernest Jaso Jr., and sister - Betty Jo Martinez. She was born in Brackettville, Texas on October 5, 1935, and was a native of Brackettville. At the time of her passing she was 88 years old.

Mary Jane had met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Ernest, they had eloped and married on September 13, 1955. Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Joe Henry Jaso (Yadhira Yazmin Rodriguez), Juanita Ann Lunderville (Robert Lunderville), Victoria Walters (Curtis Walters), and Richard Jaso (Maria Wilson). 10 Grandchildren: Angel Jaso (Lori Jaso), Angie Flores, Jessica Routt (Charles Routt), Joe Henry Jaso Jr. (Jenny Henry), Cynthia Clementz (Trevor Clementz), Ian Jaso-Rodriguez, Robert Lunderville II, Ernest Hernandez (Adrian Hernandez), Heather Harris (Albert Harris), and Curtis Walters II. She has also been blessed with 16 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Mary Jane was part of the Brackettville Volunteer Fireman Women's Auxiliary for several years. She had been active with the Brackettville Knights of the Alter Women's Group at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, where she also served a few years as a CCD Religious Education Teacher. She wore many hats as a mother and mentor, such as team-mom for her three sons on their baseball teams, band booster member, and PTA volunteer for several years. She enjoyed being an entrepreneur where she was an Avon Representative for many years. Also worked as a store clerk at Fuentes Grocery Store and worked as Head Maid at Fort Clark Springs. She would help to care for other children and help with house cleaning where needed. On her very sunny side, she loved to visit with her sister and cousins.

"There was a lot of love in Mary Jane's life, and she was always full of gratitude. Even though she is gone now we know that her legacy will live on in all of us. She was an incredible teacher and woman of God who inspired everyone who knew her. Her memory will live on in all our hearts forever."

The funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, 2024; recitation of the Holy Rosary at 2:15 PM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 3:00 PM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.

The interment will follow at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery.
