Mrs. Mary V. Cooley, 80, passed away after a long fight with cancer on Thursday, February 1, 2018 in Del Rio, TX. Mary was born to parents James and Gladys Womble on July 23, 1937 in Hesterville, MS. She grew up as the eldest of ten children. Mary married Daniel F. Jones on June 23, 1956 and had a son Daniel Craig Jones in April 1958. She happily lived in Del Rio, TX with her second husband, Carl Cooley, for more than thirty years. Mary is survived by her husband, Carl Cooley; her son Dan; her grandsons, Nathan and Nicholas Jones; her stepson Bo Cooley; her stepdaughters Cathy Elrod, Carla Purvis, and Lane Woods; as well as her sisters, Bonnie Wright and Peggy Carter; her brother, Cecil Womble; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Laura Vanhorn and Donna, and her brothers Billy, Jimmy, Buddy and Kenny Womble. Mary requested to be cremated. A memorial service will take place on February 17, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Cowboy Church in the Broke Mill RV Park. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary's life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
