Marvin Monroe "Marty" Rose March 7, 1959-August 2, 2022. Marty Rose 63, of New Braunfels, TX died Tuesday, August 2, 2022 in a tragic automobile accident on I-35 in Selma, TX. Services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Sunset Oaks Funeral Home with burial to follow. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday, August 9th at the funeral home. A celebration of life follow at a later date in his hometown of Sweetwater, Texas. Marty was born March 7, 1959 in Sweetwater, Texas to Monroe and Minnie (Watkins) Rose. He is a 1977 graduate of Sweetwater High School. After high school he attended Angelo State University before returning to Sweetwater to accept a supervisor position at the Village Market where he had worked in high school. A few years later, he met the love of his life Shayla (Rowan). They were married May 23, 1987. Marty touched many lives through the years at the stores he managed. He was hard working, dependable, honest, fair and loyal to all those that he worked for and with. No one ever had a bad word to say about him. At the time of his death he worked as an Auditor/Trainer for Lowe's Market, a job he loved. Marty was a soft spoken man who loved his family and loved spending time with them. He loved to fish and play golf and watching his granddaughter Annabella play softball. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved watching baseball. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Shayla, daughter Briana Pastrano and her husband Biviano of New Braunfels, granddaughters Annabella and Alaina, sister Marla Andrews and husband Pete of Sweetwater, mother and father in love Joyce and Herald Glaze of New Braunfels, Aunt Elva Goracke of Bells TX, a long list of cousins and friends including lifelong friend Jim Bob Crain and wife Sheila of Sweetwater. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandmother Maggie Bowen.
