In the morning hours of May 10, 2026 the skies shined a little brighter in Del Rio, Texas as Marvin Lynn Hill rode into the sunset on his journey to heaven.

Marvin passed away with family by his side. He was born on April 3, 1963, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, to Donald Lynn Hill and Nancy Elizabeth Hill.

Marvin worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for almost twenty years, where he was well known as "El Coyote." Marvin would often go around saying, "On the main, on the main," which is railroad slang. Even after he became sick, he would hear a train while at home and yell out, "On the main!"

Anyone who knew Marvin knew he was a very kind-hearted person, and he never missed a rodeo. He spent countless hours behind the bucking chutes with Colby and friends. When Marvin became ill and entered hospice care, he wanted the Cowboy Channel left on at all times, and whenever he heard them call out someone he knew, everyone knew to be quiet.

Marvin also had a passion for basketball and had many friends he would run into and ask, "Do you think we can make it up and down the court a few more times?"

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Nancy Hill. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 32 years, Nancy Hill; his sister, Jody Lynn Hill (James); and his children: Crystal Meeks (Sean), Amber Browning (Richard), Michael Hill (Brianna), Colby Hill (Kayla), Mindi Brake (Daniel), and Raul Hernández (Jessica).

Marvin's grandchildren include Jenna and Taylor Meeks; Kolton, Konnor, and Kylee Browning; Myah and Drayson Brake; Marcello Hill; and Ryan Sanchez. Marvin loved his grandchildren deeply and would always tell his daughters, "If anyone messes with them, you call me — I will be right there."

Marvin also had a special place in his heart for several nieces and nephews who had lived with us at one point throughout the years, Mitzie Brandt; his sweetheart, Amanda Craighead; his partner in crime, Savanah Brandt; the niece who confided in him; and Paisley Brandt, his little baby girl. He is also survived by nephews Owen and Jace Brandt, along with Shiloh Riley Craighead, who loved Uncle Marvin dearly, also nices and nephew Yvette Nelson, Jovana Salazar, Jessi Chavez and Justin Galindo, Sister-in-law Patricia Davee, brother-in-law Henry Davee (Lile).

The Hill family would like to thank La Vida Real for all the care they gave Marvin the last several months, Christian, Arlene, Angie, Jennifer, Nadia, and Marianna. A special thank you to Acara Hospice for the care and love they gave Marvin, thank you Debra, Amber, and Gilda.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 16, at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.
