Maria Del Consuelo
Sturgeon
Oct 20, 1945 — Nov 25, 2025
With heartfelt sadness, the family announces the passing of Maria Del Consuelo Sturgeon. She was a woman of faith, kindness, and generosity, known for her loving care as a healthcare provider and as the devoted caretaker of her mother. Her greatest joy was her family, whom she cherished, supported, and prayed for every single day.
Maria is reunited in Heaven with her beloved mother, Teresa Sturgeon, and her siblings: William Sturgeon, David Sturgeon, Aida Vasquez, and Margarita Gonzalez.
She is survived by her only son, Ricardo Rios, who was the pride of her life, and by her daughter-in-law Claudia Rios, whom she embraced as a daughter. She also leaves behind her brother, Carlos Sturgeon, and a large, loving family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Maria adored her granddaughters — Karina, Karla, Karen, and Karyme — each one holding a special place in her heart. She loved them with unwavering tenderness and celebrated every milestone with joy and gratitude. Her great-grandchildren, Jared and Camila Sofia, brought her endless light, and she spoke of them often with pride and affection. Her many nieces and nephews hold her close in their hearts, grateful for the gentle guidance and love she offered so freely.
One of the tender ways Maria expressed her love was through her cooking. She nourished her family not only with meals, but with the warmth, generosity, and faith she poured into every dish. Her table was a place of comfort, prayer, and togetherness—where no one ever left hungry, and everyone felt cared for. Sharing food was one of her God-given gifts, and a reflection of the loving heart she carried throughout her life.
Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply, and through the faith she lived with grace and humility.
"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." — John 11:25 (KJV)
