Maria Ortiz Salazar, age 86, entered into rest on Monday, August 21, 2017 in Del Rio, Texas. She was born on April 9, 1931. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernesto L. Salazar; parents Tomasita and Victor Ortiz; great-granddaughter Angela Sophia Perales; sisters Lilia Hernandez, Olga Rodriguez, Nina Salazar; brothers Fidelio Ortiz and Guadalupe Ortiz. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Serrano and husband Guillermo; granddaughter Myra Garcia and husband Adrian Garcia; grandson Maximo Perales III and wife Ashely; two nephews that were like her sons Luis Alberto Fernandez and Augustine Rodriguez; Sister Maria Elma Rodriguez; brothers Arturo Ortiz and wife Gloria, Gilberto Ortiz and wife Petra, Victor Ortiz and wife Enedelia and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the Del Rio Nursing and Rehab Center and to Dr. Noe Musquiz for all their care.
