Maria C. Vela, age 82, entered into rest on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in Del Rio, Texas. She was born on March 4, 1944. She was preceded in death by her husband, Encarnación Vela; and her parents, Rosalio Cedillo and Juanita Flores.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Rogelio Vela (Hilda) and Maria Luisa Garcia (Jesus); her brother Leonel Cedillo; grandchildren Jeanette Layfield, Larissa Garcia, Angelo Vela, Rogelio Vela, Jr., and Cristian Vela; and her great-grandchild Rogelio Vela, III. 

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.

Funeral services will conclude after the visitation.
