Margarito "Chiquillo" Garcia, age 71 of New Braunfels passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Christus Santa Rosa. He was born July 17, 1946 in New Braunfels to Eustaquio Garcia and Barbarita Alvarez Garcia. He was preceded in death by his first wife Erlinda Garcia, his parents, brothers Juan Garcia, Roberto Garcia, granddaughter Linda Marie Garcia. He was employed as a machine foreman with Mission Valley Textiles for 35 years. "Chiquillo' as he was affectionately known, was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching their football games. He is survived by his beloved wife Virginia Guerrero ; sons Margarito Garcia, Jr. and his wife Regina, Joseph Garcia and his wife Meghann, step-son Albino Guerrero, III and his wife Barbara; daughters Anna Rodriguez and her husband Gilbert, Eva Duffek and her husband James, step-daughter Monica Guerrero; brothers Casimiro, Mike, Ricardo, Ernest and Jesse Garcia; sisters Elida Saenz, Rosa Castillo and Elenor Castillo; grandchildren Justin, Nichole, Valarie, Ariceli, Lynda Marie, Andrew, Eric, Ethan, Nathan, Kareese, Kaden and Erin; great-grandchildren Vanessa, Nikkolette and Amelia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 4 PM to 9 PM with a rosary to be recited at 6 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. The funeral procession departs the funeral home Monday, November 20, 2017 at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Peter, celebrant. Burial will follow in the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank all the physicians and staff at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital for the wonderful care provided to Mr. Garcia.
