Manuela Duran Rivera de Gonzalez, was called home peacefully surrounded by the people she loved and cared for the most on October 26, 2024 at the age of 74. She was born on August 6th, 1950 in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

A lover of life, a loyal and devoted servant of God, Manuela was the Matriarch of her family. Her dedication to the prosperity of her people was the driving force that defined her life. Her life's mission was to see her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews all reach the high bar that set her expectations. Her exquisite taste and talent in the kitchen kept many tables filled with food and happiness. Her service at The Seventh Day Adventist Church helped guide many young adults to follow the path of God.

Manuela moved to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon with her parents and sisters in her late teens. There she met the love of her life Antonio Gonzalez Palacios and they were married on April 2, 1972. They both immigrated to the United States in 1973. They lived in Mathis, Texas and quickly found Del Rio on a job assignment and decided to settle there. In Del Rio they lived their life, raised their children, and took on the responsibility of helping and guiding their family to reach their full potential in becoming the best versions of themselves.

Manuela is preceded in death by her parents Eva Rivera Gomez Duran and Manuel Duran Eugenio. Her Husband of 47 years, Antonio Palacios Gonzalez, her son Antonio Gonzalez Jr, Brother Exiquio Duran Rivera, sister Conchita Barron Duran and niece Blanca Barron Duran.

Those left behind to cherish her memory, love and devotion are her children, Leyla Gonzalez- Ahmed (Sajjad), Josue Gonzalez, and Erika Maya Gonzalez (+Antonio). Her grandchildren, Melyanna Ahmed and Andres Manuel Gonzalez Maya. Together with her her husband they served as parental figures and raised like their own: Hortencia Gonzalez Duran, Isaac Garza (Julie), Emmanuel Duran (Marisa), Maria Garza (Oscar), Francisco Daniel Duran (Luisa), Yamili Menchaca (Albert) and Rodolfo Monsivais (Darrian). Joining in their grief are her siblings, Antonio Duran, Hortencia Duran Calles, Manuel Duran Rivera, Virginia Duran Castillo, Ana Maria Duran Garza, and Dina Leyla Duran Barrios. Her numerous nieces and nephews and family friends also join in the remembrance of her legacy.

Her life leaves lessons of love, devotion, sacrifice and most of all, the importance of FAMILY. Manuela left an imprint in many people's lives leaving a void that only time will be able to heal. Her presence will truly be missed.
