Lydia De Leon, 91, passed away on August 25, 2024, in Pasadena, TX after a long-term illness.
She was born in Del Rio, TX on May 5,1933. Preceded in death by her parents Jose and Josefa Gonzalez, and husband of 56 years Francisco de Leon. She is survived by her daughter Romelia (Romie) de Leon of Pasadena, TX. Her sons Ricardo (Richard) and Natalie (wife) de Leon of College Station, TX, Roberto (Bobby) and Eugenia (wife) de Leon of Corpus Christi, TX., and Rodolfo (Rudy) de Leon of Helotes, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren Patricia Owen, Raquel Gonzales, Erica Ann de Leon, Rodolfo F. de Leon, Perry D. de Leon, Cayla Mars, Connie Wilson, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Lydia graduated from San Felipe High school in 1952 and participated with class reunions yearly, monthly, and weekly until she moved to Pasadena in 2020. Lydia was a seamstress working for Hicks-Ponder jean factory, Laughlin AFB as a survival equipment technician, Guadalupe Credit Union volunteer, and in Walmart in fabrics department.
Lydia loved her family and friends. She dedicated her life to helping others, some her own age, taking them to their scheduled appointments, in or out of town. Lydia would visit and encourage others to live life to their fullest.
Viewing will be scheduled at Sunset Memorial Oaks funeral Home at 2020 N Bedell Ave, Del Rio, TX 78840, on Wednesday September 4, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm, prayer from 6-7:30pm and the doors will close at 8pm.
Funeral service is scheduled for September 5, 2024, where she will depart Sunset at 9am and go to Iglesia Bautista Vida Nueva church at 411 Ellis St, Del Rio, TX 78840. Pastor Noe Ramirez.
Following to Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery at 5144 US – 90, Del Rio, TX 78840. Then returning to Iglesia Bautista Vida Nueva Church for lunch gathering.
