Luis Daniel Chavez, age 35, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, in Del Rio, Texas. Luis was born on December 26, 1985, in Del Rio, Texas to Danny and Liz Chavez. It was while he attended Del Rio High School that he met his high school sweetheart, Laura, whom he married and spent the next 20 years with. Luis received his High School Diploma from Moraine Park Technical College in Beaver Dam, WI. At the time of his death, Luis worked for Val Verde County Juvenile Detention Facility. Luis was an avid lover of sports. As a youth, he played peewee football for the Lobos. During Junior High and High School, he played football and basketball for the Del Rio Rams. He also played basketball with the Heat Traveling League. Luis was a loyal and true fan of the Dallas Cowboys Football Team and he had a playful rivalry with his dad who is a Green Bay Packers fan. Luis was a loving husband and a devoted father to his five children. He was very involved in their extra-curricular activities and volunteered to coach in various youth sports teams. Luis is survived by his wife, Laura Chavez; his children Tay Marie Chavez, Lyla Destiny Chavez, Luis Daniel Chavez Jr, Livi Dream Chavez, and Levi Daniel Chavez; his parents Danny and Liz Chavez; his sister Lesly (Diego) Padilla; maternal grandmother Gloria Guerrero; mother and father-in-law Paul and Elvia Bradshaw; father-in-law Richard Martinez; brother-in-law Ricky (Christine) Martinez; sister-in-law Valerie (Eugenio) Valdez; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Maria Flores Chavez, his uncle Jose Alonso Guerrero, and his cousin Diamond Marie Avalos. Luis loved so many, and was loved by so many more. He has left a void in this world and in the lives of his family that can never be filled. He will be dearly missed and will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held Monday, September 13, 2021, at 10:00 am at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
