Linda Nicewander Stidham was a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. She left us on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the age of 74 years young. We say years young instead of old because she always disliked the word old and insisted it wasn't in her dictionary.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jimmie Lou Nicewander and Lee Loyd Nicewander; her sister, Carol Lee Nicewander; her grandparents, Viola Morgan, Onis Morgan, Arthur Nicewander, and Emma Nicewander

She is survived by her husband, Monty Stidham; her siblings, Van Nicewander, Dean Nicewander, and Donna Riemer; her children, Billy Tooker, Daniel Tooker, Rachel Tooker, and Jonathan Tooker; Six grandchildren, Trinity Flores, Emily Flores, Salem Flores, Alexander Tooker, Rebecca Tooker, and Hannah Tooker; her nephew, Chris Riemer and his wife Tara and their 3 kids; Adam, Noah, and Grant.

Linda was born on October 29th, 1951, in Perry Oklahoma to Jimmie Lou Nicewander and Lee Loyd Nicewander. She spent much of her childhood in school and in church. She attended the Nazarene church in Perry 3 times a week until 6th grade and attended Calvary Baptist Church thereafter. She was in several school plays, took piano lessons, and was in the Blue Birds.

She graduated from Stillwater High school in 1970. After graduation, she worked at Southwestern Bell as a Switchboard operator for many years. Later on, she shifted her focus to respiratory therapy.

She married William Tooker on June 18th of 1975 in Payne Oklahoma. She had her first child, William Sean Tooker, on September 2nd, 1981. She went on to have three more children. Daniel Lee Tooker in 1987, Rachel Viola Lou Tooker in 1992, and Jonathan David Tooker in 1995.

She moved to Del Rio, Texas in 1991 for missionary work. She helped John Martinez and Irene Ballosh with their church. She taught and preached, distributed toys, helped build churches, and brought the gospel to those who needed it most.

She married Monty Stidham on October 28th of 2011, and they spent over 15 years together in their beautiful home in Del Rio Texas where they shared their love of music, the word of God, taking care of animals, and nature.

She had a deep love for music, singing, poetry, and most of all, the bible. She was creative and was always coming up with clever product ideas, like her musical diapers.

She absolutely loved animals too. She rescued hundreds throughout her life. She gave many dogs and cats a second chance at life and found them loving homes when nobody else would.

Most important of all, she was a great mother to four children. She raised them right, loved them all equally, always took interest in their lives, and took care of them through many hardships. She brought them up in the way we should go, and they did not depart from it. That was one of her favorite verses from Proverbs 22:6.

Here is another one of her favorite verses: Psalms 23: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the lord forever. The trumpets in heaven shall sound in glory and the gates will be open wide, for the lord in heaven has brought home one of his most faithful servants. She will dwell in the house of the lord forever."

We would also like to extend a personal thank you to Linda's husband, Monty Stidham, her daughter, Rachel, and all of the Hospice nurses. Thank you for taking care of her and sticking by her side. We greatly appreciate everything you've done and the sacrifices you've made to make sure that she was taken care of, and comfortable.
